Hand-blown Murano glass vase with aventurine marbling

A lovely tall Murano glass vase  with a beautiful marbled effect. This look is created during the blowing process. the glass-master applies the "veins" with a brush. Some of the marbling contains aventurine. This material is a coppery-coloured glitter, which was considered to be a precious metal in 19th century Venice.

 This is a very time-consuming process, as it is all done by hand. What is more, as the vases in our collections are made individually in studios, no two will be identical.
