About Us

Welcome to Murano Glass Sculptures!

Thank you for taking the time to visit this page to learn a bit more about ourselves. Karen and myself are the directors of Murano Glass Sculptures…

I was raised from the mid-sixties to the late seventies, in the beautiful northern Italian City of Verona. I still have fond memories of this wonderful time of my life.
Long hot summers playing outside every day, sailing on lake Garda, and skiing the local slopes of Malga S.Giorgio with my local ski club over the winter months.

Those were truly happy days, and I still remember my disappointment when my father (Now our Chairman) announced we were to return to the UK!

Anyway, my love of Italian culture and language saw me going on to Cardiff University to read Italian.

After graduation I put my language skills to use working for an Italian food importer and wine distributor in London.

For years then my language talents were not utilised, and my love of Italy had to be assuaged by occasional Holidays and Trips to "Il Bel Paese!"

My career progressed working in the Advertising and Marketing department a local radio station in Cardiff (UK).

It was here that I met my wonderful wife to be Karen! We got married, and we are now blessed with 3 beautiful girls!

In the summer of 2002 we launched the business that has taken care of my family ever since:

By now Mum and Dad had returned to Italy to live, the British rain wind and cold were not to their liking, and Dad was supplementing his early retirement income working with Italian lighting and furniture manufactures inspecting the products before they were shipped all around the world.

The internet was fast emerging as a viable platform for selling, and we thought the British speaking audience would be interested in the fabulous Italian craftsmen made products we had access to.

We started working with just 5 small workshops, (Sadly two of them no longer in existence) and I clearly remember the first order that came our way in August 2003 for some designer recessed lights and pendants!

Since then our offering has greatly expanded, to include the luxuriously handcrafted Murano Glass Sculptures you find on these pages, and we now work with over 80 workshops, glass houses and manufacturers.

We are delighted to offer you a beautiful and diverse collection of over 500 glass art sculptures, from vases and figurines to collectible glass animals and everyday tableware. You won’t find any of these products on the high street. We are proud to have sourced our ranges through years of hard work, and by developing excellent working relationships with all our suppliers.

For the most part these are based in Northern Italy. We now like to consider ourselves as very knowledgeable in our area of expertise.

Karen and myself love our work, and have had the opportunity of travelling to many parts of the world helping our clients. Over the years we are proud to have collaborated with many prestigious companies and individuals that include:-

Harrods (London), Harvey Nichols (London), Bravissimo (UK); Pizza Express (UK); Thomas Sabo (Germany); Jones Apparel (USA); Net-a-Porter; Meissen Jewellers (St.Moritz); Sonnental Hotel (Germany); The Goring Hotel (London); Alsterhaus (Hamburg); the Wyndham Grand Hotel (Chelsea Harbour); Aspers Casino (Swansea); St.Pancras Hotel (London), The Mercure Hotel (Bristol) to mention a few.

If we can help you in any way, please reach out to us and we will do what we can to assist.

Best
