Luxurious large hand-crafted Murano glass plate

This very elegant and impressive Murano glass plate not only looks beautiful, but also showcases the incredible skill of the Venetian glassmaster. It is created entirely by hand, using a number of ancient techniques.

To begin with, coloured glass rods are melded with clear glass. This is called "filigrana".

The "incalmo" technique is also employed. This method is centuries old, and involves the fusion of two blown glass elements, which are circular in this case. This is a very difficult process because the blown glass elements need to have precisely the same diameter.

This lovely heirloom-quality glass item, made by a Venetian maestro, will give you pleasure for many years to come.
